Surdex Corporation Unpublished Material vector digital data Surdex Corporation was contracted by a consortium of 11 Counties (Attala, Bolivar, Holmes, Leake, Leflore, Marshall, Panola, Sunflower, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union) within the Mississippi 2015 Orthoimagery Project (MS-2015) to capture digital aerial imagery at 6-inch gsd and 12-inch gsd pixel resolutions. The aerial imagery was captured to create orthoimagery as final deliverables. The counties have a common need for professional services in updating GIS products used in the assessment of taxable properties. The project was to consist of 6-inch imagery over selective towns and urban areas and 12-inch imagery covering the entire participating counties. Due to unfavorable weather in the 2014 – 2015 leaf-off season, only 5 (Bolivar, Marshall, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union) of the 11 participating counties were acquired with 12-inch gsd imagery. None of the 6-inch imagery was acquired. The 6-inch imagery was to be acquired at ~6150' above ground level (agl) and the 12-inch was acquired at ~12300' agl with the Leica ADS100 sensor to create 4-band Orthophotography. At the participating counties request the 12-inch gsd imagery was acquired after the scheduled March 21, 2015 closing date for acquisition had closed. The imagery was acquired in four missions (1 mission on 03/30/2015 and 3 missions on 04/04/2015). The remaining six counties (Attala, Holmes, Leake, Leflore, Panola and Sunflower) chose to wait until the 2015 – 2016 leaf-off season for image acquisition. The five counties with the 12-inch acquisition also chose to have the 6-inch imagery acquired in the 2015 – 2015 leaf-off season. The 12-inch imagery acquired was delivered in GeoTIFF/tfw tiles and MrSID/sdw mosaics by counties in the requested 5000' x 5000' tiling format utilizing the United States National Grid tile labeling format. The counties are projected to their respective NAD83 (2011) State Plane Coordinate System East or West Zone, in US Feet.
