The dataset represents levee areas also known as a dyke (or dike) is an artificial embankment to contain or hold back water. This dataset is part of the Inland Electronic Navigational Charts (IENCs) and were developed from available data used in maintenance of Navigation channels.

*** Note April 2017, MARIS extracted the MS portion (including a 10 mile buffer around the state border) for distribution **
