These are point and polygon locations of all permitted (active and inactive) mines. The points can be anywhere within the permitted boundary. The file contains the operator and mined materal and whether it has been reclaimed if inactive.

Note: Surface mining locations consist of points and boundaries. Both shapefiles are included in the Download zip file. These should always be used in tandem.
